Star Wars Kid

Friday, May 14th, 2004

A kid decided to video himself fighting thin air with a stick. His friends found it and put it on the internet on April 19th then people began adding effects and sounds to it to make spoof versions.

It\’s flippin\’ hilarious because all men have done it in private at some point! It has to be seen to be belly laughed at!

These are the best I\’ve seen:

SWK 2.0

SWK - A New Hope

Lord Of The Onion Rings

Terminator

Dork Clones

And here\’s the original.

No More Reasons For Occupation

Monday, May 10th, 2004

The \”coalition\’s\” reasons for being in Iraq have now disappeared.

First it was those pesky WMDs that we never found.

Then those exaggerated claims of Iraq\’s weapons capabilities.

Then that tenuous-at-best link between Saddam and some traveling al-Qaeda spokesman.

Now the very last thing we had going for us has completely evaporated. The moral high ground. At least the \”coalition\” could have said that they were better for the Iraqis than Saddam. But they can\’t say that any longer.

My frustration lies in being in a \”democratic\” country where when over 1million people march in London to protest against Britain going to war, it doesn\’t make a jot of difference. I am angered and frustrated that I am represented in an illegal was which I never wanted to happen in the first place. And there is nothing I can do about it.

If you know of anything that I, lowly Ben Gibbs, can do to change any of this, please add your comment below. Im feeling overwhelmingly helpless.

Iraqi rights violated

Wednesday, May 5th, 2004

It is appauling that western, democratic troops have been and are abusing the human rights of detainees and prisoners in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere. It is not only just the Americans but very probably British and other soldiers in Iraq. It is so stupid to come in promising freedom from an oppresive regime only to continue the abuse of human rights. The damage of credibility of the US and the UK in Iraq must be immense. Who cares if we have the right intent in bringing freedom if we don\’t practically do it?!!

Here is an article about it all with a letter from Human Rights Watch to Condoleeza Rice outlining a 9 step plan to stop such violations from taking place.

And here\’s the Claim Vs Fact Database containing the lies and distortions that the Bush administration has told so far.
