Catch-up Blog
Monday, July 31st, 2006I haven’t blogged for a while so here is a quick round up of my last few weeks.
I finished work with Liquid Bronze on the 21st July. I’ve had a great 2 years with Andrew and I’ve learnt loads from him, both personally and professionaly. I will be sad not to be with or see Andrew as much.
I now work for Freedom Properties 3 days a week and the other 2 work days a week I am funded to do Skate Networking in Manchester. I am creating Freedom’s intranet and doing other web / IT stuff for them. I am cycling in every day, a journey of ~ 5 miles each way, so I hope to get fit quick and not be a fat dad! Although I aim to get to the offices and back directly, I change the route and enjoy cruising through new streets each time. Oh, and I’ve also got a new 15″ MacBook Pro - it’s a beaut!
With the Skate networking, I am wanting to be more part of the skatescene and perhaps get a skate lobby group going and an annual skate festival for Manchester. I’m very excited about both new jobs!
The Manchester Jazz Festival was this week, and I managed to make 2 events on Friday. I love the free music, I think it really creates a sense of collective ownership and appreciation for Manchester and it’s creative edge. I hope that an annual skate festival would do the same.
Mary-Lou’s tummy is now about the biggest it will get, in the last few weeks it gets smaller as the baby drops into the womans pelvis bone. We’re very excited as our baby could come anytime now! Mary-Lou wants at least a weeks maternity leave to rest before it does though! This is her last week working for the Council.
My Mum & Dad have moved from Derby to Crewe today. I went to the Clitheroe Skatepark on Saturday with some mates and asked them if they had ever skated in Crewe. They hadn’t but said that it is refferred to as “Crewe York” for its great skate spots! So i will have to have a cruise around when I visit, to see what I can find!
